$10,000 for Scouterships

Returning for its fourth year, Scouterships for Philmont! We try to help four Scouters head to Philmont. This year we want to help several more than that.

Adult volunteers in all of the BSA® programs are incredibly generous with their time. Some say “the position takes just one hour a week” when in reality so much more time is invested in the youth than just that hour. The BSA® has great adult training, some local, and some distant. (see: https://www.scouting.org/training/adult/) There are National Training Centers such as at Philmont Scout Ranch, the Florida Sea Base, and Bechtel Summit that have very reasonable registration fees but do require travel expenses.

The Scouterships will provide cost-sharing funds for adults to attend these National training programs. Please help this effort with whatever amount you can. We will announce the opening for applications in March, once we know our ability to help out. Thank you.
